Home Which Course?
So which courses should I take?

Q: I communicate with my friends and colleagues very well using things like Facebook, Twitter, SMS and MXIT but I find that, when I communicate more formally, especially with overseas people, I am often misunderstood or people complain that I do not project a professional image. I also want to pick up some public speaking techniques. Are there any courses which I should take?

A: GTT has a fantastic course which we will be running on a monthly basis in Gauteng called “Communicating in the International Business Environment”. The course includes all the unit standards shown below. Having successfully completed the contact training you will be required to undergo an online assessment in order to obtain your SETA certification. The course takes 3 days and it incorporates the unit standards set out below. The total cost of the course (includes contact training attendance, online assessment, and certification) is R6000.00 plus VAT.

Should you wish to select individual modules for online training and assessment the prices of each unit standard are shown below.

Wants the FIATA Diploma in Freight Forwarding

Q: I believe that it is possible to obtain the internationally recognised Diploma in Freight Forwarding which is awarded by the International Federation of Freight Forwarding Associations (FIATA) by acquiring South African qualifications. What are the requirements for this?

A: The South African Association of Freight Forwarders (SAAFF) is responsible for recommending to FIATA the award of the FIATA Diploma to South African learners. SAAFF will recommend the award of the FIATA Diploma to any learner in South African who has:

  1. Acquired the full South African national freight forwarding qualifications at NQF levels 3 and 4 through a provider accredited against the full qualifications;|
For those learners commencing their studies the qualifications in question are:
    • National Certificate: Freight Forwarding & Customs Compliance: NQF Level 3, ID 59365 (Advanced Learnership)
    • Further Education & Training Certificate: Freight Forwarding & Customs Compliance: NQF Level 4, ID 59298 (Advanced Learnership)
For those learners who have acquired earlier versions of these qualifications or related qualifications these applications will need to be considered on merit by SAAFF.
  2. Successfully completed a summative assessment to be determined, set and marked by SAAFF. (This may take the form of a dissertation, a written assessment, a verbal assessment or a combination of these).
